PAW PALS BOUTIQUE
The HSCA recently celebrated the grand opening of our new retail shop right inside the shelter. Whether adopting a new puppy or just looking around, be sure to stop by PAW PALS BOUTIQUE! The entrance is located to the right after walking through the main doors of the shelter. We have leashes, collars, clothing, toys, treats, food, and so much more!
About Us
The Humane Society Calumet Area, working within a "no-kill" philosophy, provides shelter and medical treatment for unwanted and abandoned animals while finding loving adopting homes. It promotes population control along with kindness and ethical treatment through education and example.
In 2006, the HSCA adopted out nearly 2,000 animals and is on track to do even more this year. On any given day, the shelter houses more than 200 animals and goes through 125+ pounds of dog food.
The HSCA is not a "branch" of any national humane organization and receives no funding from any such agency. The only way the HSCA continues to run, with an operating cost of over $65,000 a month, is through the continued support from local community members.

Upcoming Events
Pancake Breakfast
The HSCA will host a Pancake Breakfast on November 18th at St. John the Baptist school in Whiting, IN. Join us for All-You-Can-Eat pancakes and sausage from 7am-1pm. Tickets are available at the shelter and will be sold at the door for $5.00
Holiday Bazaar
Celebrate the holidays with the animals of the HSCA! The annual Holiday Bazaar will be held December 15th & 16th from 11am-4pm, here at the shelter. There will be a bake sale, photos with Santa, crafts, raffles, games, and so much more!
