What is Paws in the Park?
Paws in the Park is a fun-filled day for families and their pets with activites, demonstrations, contests, and prizes!
The day begins with a Walk-a-Thon for the homeless animals. Everyone is invited to participate.
We only require that you love animals!
Where is Paws in the Park?
Paws in the Park will be held at Wicker Park, 8544 Indianapolis Blvd., Highland, IN. The walk will take place on the
surrounding path, while the fair will be set up in the grassy area surrounding the dog park.
Please join us in our efforts to help the homeless animals!
How Can I Get Involved?
- You can walk! You can get friends, family, and co-workers to support your walk around Wicker Park. Bring your dogs or bring a friend!
- You can attend! By participating in the event, you will help create a united voice for the importance of the Humane Society Calumet Area's mission to provide medical treatment and shelter for all the homeless animals while finding loving adopting homes.
- You can donate! If you are unable to attend the event, you can donate gifts, make a monetary donation, or vounteer your time before hand. For more information contact the shelter at 219-922-3811.
How Do I Raise Funds?
Raising Funds is fun and easy.
- Raise funds online by creating a fundraising page at Firstgiving.com.
- Print a Pledge Form and flyer to help raise funds at work or school.
- Walkers have held bake sales, garage sales, and sent letters to friends and family.
- Set your goal high. Make a list of friends and family that may be willing to help and send them cards or contact at least one person on your list every day.
- You may also wish to walk in memory of a person or pet. It's a nice way to remember a loved one and it can help focus your fundraising.
- The Shelter can accept donations in the form of Checks, Credit Cards, Cash, and Money Orders.
Be creative and have fun!
