Adoption Procdure

Our purpose is to take in unwanted animals and in return, find them all loving lifelong homes with responsible pet owners. In order for us to do this, the following adoption procedure must be followed.

While in the Shelter, PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH ANY OF THE ANIMALS!
We want to eliminate the possibility of disease spreading from animal to animal. If you wish to see one of the animals out of its cage, please ask a kennel aide for assistance. For safety, please limit two guests per bonding room. Strollers or children under two years of age are not permitted in bonding rooms with the animals.

Upon entering our shelter, please take time to notice all our animals. After a decision has been made, please return to the front desk and give the receptionist the name, cage number, or description of the animal you are interested in. The receptionist will then get a kennel aide to take the animal out for you to play with and see if you are still interested.

Next, after deciding on an animal, an adoption form must be filled out. We have a one (1) to three (3) business day approval period. YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD TO ADOPT AN ANIMAL! A dog or cat care video is available with a $10.00 deposit at the time of application. A refund will be credited upon return of the video. We encourage the viewing of this video in order to prepare the new owner in the basics of pet care.

If approved, we will call you and set up a pickup time for you to come in and take your new pet home. If you are not approved, a brief explanation will be given for the denial.

Remember, our policy at this shelter is to spay and neuter ALL animals before they go home. With your help, we hope to be able to cut down on the unwanted pet population in this area.
